Austin 3-Litre

THE LAST BIG LUXURY AUSTIN

Austin 3-Litre Ambulance

The Austin 3-Litre Ambulance shown above is owned by a very enthusiastic 3-Litre Club Member. The car was owned by Lockheed Industries and used as a factory Ambulance. There are records of eleven cars having been converted for this used by Wadham Stringer. They were fitted with sirens, blue flashing lights, a stretcher and oxygen bottles. They were often used by factories as a quick way of getting injured workers to Hospital should the need arise, as such most of these cars covered very little mileage. This example is the only know roadworthy survivor and was repatriated to the UK from Germany in 2014, the car is now in use.

Sadly the white example pictured above ended its days being banger raced.
